Late Bloomers scores in Germany

Released on March 29 on 46 prints by X-Verleih, Late Bloomers has clocked up over 100,000 admissions in German cinemas. The Berlin-based outfit received €25,000 from the Swiss fund for export support, set up this year by the Cinema Section of the Swiss Federal Office for Culture (OFC) and the national promotion agency, Swiss Films.

Bettina Oberli’s German-language comedy – entitled Les mamies font pas dans la dentelle in French-speaking Switzerland – has garnered 550,000 admissions to date in Switzerland after its remarkable Piazza Grande premiere at the 2006 Locarno Film Festival.
