Picture Europe 2007, The Best of European Cinema

Continuing its mission to uphold European cinema and its talent, European Film Promotion partnered up with three theatres from three European capitals to organise a brand new pan-European event entitled Picture Europe! The Best of European Cinema.
Madrid’s Princesa Cinemas (April 13-18), Berlin’s CineStar Original (April 26-May 2) and London’s Curzon Soho (June 6-14) will be hosting a selection of European titles that have made a splash at their local box offices and are expected to become hits in their neighbouring countries as well.
The event, which is to be launched on April 13 in Madrid with the presence of Spanish actress Assumpta Serna, will allow European talent to literally cross borders, with several directors and actors attending the premières and participating in Q&As with both audiences and the press immediately after the screenings. Films will be shown in their original language with subtitles.
The eclectic programme includes both young and established filmmakers, with some very diverse approaches to cinema, allowing audiences to choose from diverse genres and styles.
Picture Europe is expected to encourage the circulation of European film throughout the continent and contribute to forming and creating new audiences that will return over time.
