film profile] (Silver Lion at Venice 2005, see interview) has this week pocketed €400,000 from the Ile-de-France region’s technical support fund for the film and audiovisual industries.
La frontière de l’aube had an eight-week Paris shoot in July and August and stars young actors Louis Garrel (Love Songs [+see also:

Produced on a €2.37m by Rectangle Productions and co-produced by Italy’s Urania Pictures (21%), the film has been pre-sold to Ciné Cinéma.
Scripted by the director, Arlette Langmann and Marc Cholodenko, the plot follows a young photographer about to tie the knot. On the morning of the wedding, while he is getting dressed, a vision appears to him in the mirror of his ex-lover, an actress who committed suicide after he cut out her out from his life and who has now come back to haunt him, calling him from another world.
As part of its third annual session, the Ile-de-France region has also granted €400,000 to Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche’s Le dernier maquis (Sarrazink Production, see news) and €532,000 to Bruno Podalydès’ Bancs publics, Versailles rive droite (Why Not Productions, see article).
Other lucky recipients were Christine Dory’s Circuit fermé (Pierre Grise Production, €418,000), Emmanuel Parraud’s Avant poste (Château-Rouge Production, €228,000) and Sarah Petit’s Au voleur (a Les Films Hatari production, €342,000).
Two documentaries were granted €86,000 each: Agnès Varda’s Les plages (a Ciné Tamaris production) and Dominique Marchais’ Le temps des grâces (Capricci Films).
The region also selected five audiovisual projects, including Rachid Bouchareb’s London River. The 3B Productions film – about two parents, a French Muslim and a Christian living in England, whose children are reported missing after a terrorist attack on London and who despite their different religions share the hope of finding them alive – received €107,000.
