film profile], very well received at Venice (in Critics Week, although many believed it should have been in competition), grazed the €1m box office mark after last weekend’s optimal intake of €377,793, which proves that the film is continuing to grow thanks to audience word-of-mouth.
Even after the sell-out screenings at the Venice fest the Indigo Film production (distributed September 14 by Medusa) continues to fill theatres. Its number six box office slot is further helped by a per screen average of €2,862 that has trounced the competition and is second only to The Simpsons Movie, pleasing all those exhibitors farsighted enough to believe in this atmospheric noir featuring an all-star cast (including Toni Servillo, Valeria Golino and Fabrizio Gifuni).
