Second film in "lovable losers" series gets NFF support

In its latest round of production support, the Norwegian Film Fund (NFF) has awarded NOK 8.8m to Knullegutt, the new feature film directed by Arild Frölich (Pittbullterje) and NOK 1.2m to Thomas Lien's documentary Jakten på hukommelsen.

Knullegutt is the second part of the feature film series about "lovable losers", following his 2005 comedy Pittbulterje. The film, co-written by Frölich and Lars Gudmestad, is based on Lars Ramslies' novel Fatso. It focuses on Rino, a sexually inexperienced 30 year-old who starts a relationship with an emancipated 20 year-old woman.

The NOK 19.5m title is produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvae for Paradox Film (Hawaii, Oslo [+see also:

). Filming will start on February 20, 2008 and local distribution through Scanbox Entertainment Norge is set for October 2008.

Jakten på hukommelsen ("Chasing Memory") is based on the story of Øyvind Aamot, who woke up one day in a train in China without knowing who he was or where he was going. The NOK 3m film is produced by Petter Vennerød for Merkur Filmproduksjon. Oro Film will handle the local release in Norway on August 20, 2008.
