by

Winner of the Swiss Film Prize 2006, Exit: le droit de mourir (Exit: The Right to Die”) by Fernand Melgar (Climage) is flying the Swiss flag at the European Meetings of Documentary Filmmakers which are being held in the French capital (December 4-8).

The film about an association offering assisted suicide to terminally-ill people – Switzerland is the only country in the world where this is legal – is included in a selection of 16 features screened at the Goethe Institute, the Wallonia-Brussels Centre and the Swiss Cultural Centre in Paris as part of the event entitled Un tour d’Europe du Doc.

The Swiss Association for Screenwriters and Film Directors (ARF/FDS) is among the filmmaker associations from 13 different European countries taking part in the event in Paris, where independent documentary filmmaking and the financial issues that affect it are the focus of various round-table discussions hosted by the Maison de l’Europe.
