Patierno gambles on Elio Germano

by

On February 8, Elio Germano will hit screens as a young radio DJ in Il mattino ha l’oro in bocca (“An Hour in the Morning is Worth Two in the Evening”), the new film by Francesco Patierno, adapted from Marco Baldini’s novel The Gambler.

Produced by Rodeo Drive and distributed domestically by Medusa Film, the film was shot last summer over eight weeks in Rome and Milan. It tells the story of an inveterate gambler and is set among poker games, bets and multi-million euro debts.

Germano will be flanked by Laura Chiatti, along with Martina Stella and Dario Vergassola.

The film’s release is set to coincide with the Berlinale (February 7-17), where Germano will be a guest as Italy’s Shooting Star, thus capping off a magical 2007 and ringing in a new year full of promise. After winning the David di Donatello Award for My Brother Is an Only Child [+see also:
