Italian teenagers have another rendezvous with cinema in the highly anticipated new film based on the latest book by Federico Moccia, who has become the undisputed spokesperson for the romantic dreams of millions of young people.

film profile], the noted writer got behind the camera. His third literary adaptation, Scusa ma ti chiamo amore, also marks his directorial debut and will be released on January 25 by Medusa Film on 500 screens.

Presented in a well-known high school in Rome teeming with screaming fans, the film centres on the relationship between a 37 year-old ad man (Raoul Bova) and a 17 year-old (newcomer Michela Quattrociocche) struggling with her end of school exam. The story of the generational encounter-conflict has stirred up controversy.

"It is a healthy and credible relationship," said Moccia, "that is reflected in the stories I’ve heard from numerous young girls".

"Age difference is no longer a big problems,” added Bova, who after numerous dramatic roles here returns to his lighter side. "Love has no limits," he pronounced, thus coining the film’s new catch phrase.
