Boyle and Barratier lead the way for Pathé at Berlin

One week away from the European Film Market at the Berlinale (February 7-17), Pathé International has unveiled a line-up as varied as it is enticing.

The team headed by Muriel Sauzay, who will be counting on success at the festival with the documentary Cafe de Los Maestros by Argentine director Miguel Kohan (in the Panorama section), have an impressive and strong selection of films in production and post-production.

Noteworthy titles include Slumdog Millionaire by UK director Danny Boyle and Faubourg 36 [+see also:

by France’s Christophe Barratier (pre-sold to Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Spain and Switzerland). At Berlin, a promotional reel of the latest feature by the director of The Chorus [+see also:

The Pathé line-up also features Bright Star by Australian director Jane Campion (in pre-production), Linha de Passe by Brazilian director Walter Salles (in post-production) and Jacques Perrin’s documentary Océans (in production).

Titles in post-production include Saul Dibb’s The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling; Etienne Chatiliez’s Agathe Cléry; Lorraine Levy’s London Mon Amour; Nicolas Bary’s Les enfants de Timpelbach (“The Children of Timbelbach”); and Miguel Courtois’ Skate or Die; as well as the following thrillers: Nash Edgerton’s The Square and Mark Tonderai’s Hush, and horror film Eden Lake by James Watkins (starring Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender and Thomas Turgoose).

Market screenings include the comedy Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis, directed by and starring Dany Boon, Jan Kounen’s 99 Francs, Paul Andrew Williams’ The Cottage and the blockbuster Asterix at the Olympic Games.
