After 27 selections at festivals in 2007, the film by Genevan screenwriter and director Nasser Bakhti thus adds two new honours to the five awards it has already garnered: the Silver Eagle and Best Actress Award (for Madeleine Piguet) at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam, the Brownstone Award at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York, Best Director at the International Euro Arab Film Festival Amal at Santiago de Compostela, as well as the Audience Award at the Valencia Mediterranean Film Festival (Spain).

Night Shadows aims to reveal the hidden side of Geneva – socially excluded immigrants and clandestine workers – as the paths of five Swiss and foreign residents cross during a 24-hour police patrol.

The film stars Martin Huber, Gaspard Boesch, Frédéric Landenberg, Madeleine Piguet and Hicham Alhayat.

Born in Algeria, Bakhti has lived and worked in Switzerland since 1990, where he founded the production company Troubadour Film.
