Mexican film director Alfonso Cuaron will direct the next episode of the
wildly popular adventures of the young British magician, Harry Potter. He will replace Chris Columbus, director of the first two episodes who will move to the role
of producer. Alfonso Cuaron will direct the third episode despite the fact
that Steven Spielberg has often expressed a continued interest in the
project.
After the multiple award-winning road movie Y Tu Mama' Tambien scandalized
most of the public in Europe and America with its eroticism, the Mexican
director will now find inspiration in the pages of J.K. Rawlings third book
for children, «Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban».
In a flurry of scenes surly hippogriffs, flying aunts, and biting
books Harry Potter will find himself face to face with an infamous murderer
who has escaped Azkaban to find and kill him. The film will start
production in early 2003 and is to be released in 2004.
