From Daydreams to Monaco with Pyramide
Having returned from Berlin, Pyramide’s international sales team have taken stock of their best sales for Cineuropa.
According to Eric Lagesse, Nuri Bige Ceylan’s Daydreams (co-produced by Pyramide) has already been bought – on the strength of its screenplay and the reputation of its director alone – for the UK (New Wave), Benelux (Imagine), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Greece (Rosebud), the Baltic countries, Russia and India. The film will be distributed in Italy by BIM Distribuzione, who are also co-producers.
Among the promotional reels presented at the European Film Market, noteworthy titles include Anne Fontaine’s Monaco (starring Fabrice Luchini, Roschdy Zem and Louise Bourgoin, see news), which was bought for Belgium (Les Films de l’Elysée), Switzerland (Monopole Pathé) and Canada (Seville); and Catherine Castel’s 48 heures par jour [+see also:

film profile] (“48 Hours Per Day”, starring Aure Atika, Antoine de Caunes and Victoria Abril), bought for Belgium, Switzerland and Brazil.
Moreover, Pyramide has several impressive films in its line-up for the forthcoming Cannes Film Market with a selection of eight titles in post-production. These include Stéphane Giusti’s Made in Italy (see news), Ilian Duran Cohen’s Le plaisir de chanter (“The Pleasure of Singing”), Karin Albou’s Le chant des mariés (“The Song of the Newlyweds”) and Annemarie Jacir’s Le sel de la mer (“Sea Salt”).
Films currently being shot include Sophie Laloy’s Je te mangerai (“I’ll Eat You”), starring Isild Le Besco, Judith Davis, Jonathan Libéreau and Fabienne Babe; and Bruno Dumont’s Hadewijch (see news). Pyramide will also handle sales for Catherine Corsini’s next feature Partir (“Leaving”), currently in the casting stage.
