The entire cast of Ermanno Olmi's new film, Cantando dietro i paraventi, will be Chinese. The shooting will begin between 9 and 15 of September in Montenegro. The mysterious lead actress, also Chinese, will play a woman who is forced to lead an army at the end of the year 700.
Ermanno Olmi carried off multiple prizes in the most recent «David di Donatello» awards for his war epic Profession of Arms. He now turns his camera to another wartime period film. But this time there is something new in the film's production. In addition to Rai Cinema and Cinema Undici, who also produced Profession of Arms, the film will be co-produced by Cinema Undici and the U.S. independent production company, Lakeshore. Among its films, Lakeshore boasts Arlington Road and The Gift.
