had not been selected for any of the line-ups. In the end, the International Critics’ Week selectors decided to give the film a special screening for its world premiere.

Produced by Swiss company Box Productions (Elena Tatti and Thierry Spicher), French-speaking Swiss Television and SRG SSR idée suisse, the title is co-produced by France (Archipel 35 and France 3) and Belgium (Need Productions and RTBF). Home is being sold internationally by Memento Films International.

The film – which was shot in Romania – recounts how a motorway causes a family breakdown.

Swiss documentary Chrigu by Jan Gassmann and the late Christian Ziörjen – which screened at the Berlin Film Festival – is to be presented in the Acid (Agency for Independent Film Distribution) sidebar. An ode to friendship and life, the film subtly retraces the experience of inescapable death.

Two minority Swiss co-productions will also screen in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival: Salt of This Sea by Palestinian director Annemarie Jacir (produced by Pierre-Alain Meier of Zurich-based Thelma Film) and Tulpan by Kazakh director Sergey Dvortsevoy (produced by Valerie Fischer of Cobra Film).
