Roland Joffé’s new project Singularity (working title), starring Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai, is one of six feature films on the line-up that Corsan World Sales (CWS) is offering to world buyers in Cannes. Currently in pre-production and based on an original script by Joffé, Singularity is an impossible love story that transcends time and space.

Two other features are also in pre-production. Meant to Be, written by Kara Holden, is a romantic comedy about a guardian angel who falls in love for the woman he is protecting. Principal photography is starting in start in July.

The Devil’s Double, based on a script by Michael Thomas (Scandal), is the true story of Latif Yahia, the man who was forced to become the double of Uday Hussein, the son of Saddam Hussein.

From their office at the Hotel Carlton, CWS’s Head of Sales Catherine Vandeleene and company CEO Paul Breuls will also introduce a promo-reel of Breuls’ new film as a director, The Hessen Affair, starring Billy Zane (Titanic) and Lyne Renée. Set in 1945, the film tells the story of two lovers who mastermind the biggest jewel heist in history – stealing the German Crown jewels and smuggling them to America.

Screening at the Market are Roger Tucket’s Irish film Waiting for Dublin, and John Daly’s psychological drama The Box Collector.

CWS is a division of Corsan, the fully integrated film development, financing and production company based in Belgium, with 20 years experience in film.

“All Corsan films are quality and edgy, English-language and in a variety of genres made with substantial budgets, high production values and strong commercial international appeal,” said Breuls. “The films are also ‘European productions’ for the purposes of funding, marketing and distribution. They are therefore eligible for all the European support systems and meet all the quota requirements.”
