A week of French film

The eighth edition of French Film Week (June 27-July 3) is about to get underway in the German capital.

This year’s opening film is Jan Kounen’s mass-appeal comedy 99 Francs [+see also:

(German title: 39,90), which looks at the world of advertising. The feature will be presented to Berlin cinemagoers by Frédéric Beigbeder, the writer of the eponymous best-selling book.

The line-up includes a varied panorama of 15 recent French films which will screen in two theatres: Cinéma Paris and Filmtheater am Friedrichshain. Among the selected titles are Christophe Honoré’s Love Songs [+see also:
