RELEASES Germany

All Gone week's only European release

by

This week, a host of US films are hitting German screens alongside one European title: Pepe Planitzer’s German comedy drama All Gone.

The film – which is the second feature by the Berlin-born director (after A Ship is Coming of 2003) – is mainly set in the no man's land of a former Soviet military base near the German capital.

Written by Planitzer, the title tells the story of the encounter between Ina (Marie Gruber), who leaves prison and returns to her childhood home (which has been uninhabited for 30 years) and Domühl (Milan Peschel), who is idle, disenchanted and fond of the bottle. The latter is accompanied by Hagen (Eberhard Kirchberg), a mentally handicapped man who thinks that Domühl is his uncle. All Gone is a film about love, friendship and solidarity on the margins of society.
