This is Love reunites Glasner, Harfouch and Vogel after they worked together on the cult film Sexy Sadie (1996). After The Free Will, in which Vogel played the lead role, the feature also marks a new stage in the collaboration between the actor and director.

Indeed, this is the first production by Berlin-based Badlands Film, which was founded by Glasner, Vogel and the Italian-born director Lars Kraume last autumn. The title is co-produced by Schwarzweissfilm, Cine Plus Filmproduktion, WDR and ARTE.

According to Glasner, who wrote the film: "This is Love looks at the love games we try to run away from. They frighten us and, at the same time, entice us, even if they lead to our downfall".

After Vietnam, the shoot will relocate to Berlin and the surrounding area, as well as North Rhine-Westphalia, where it will wrap up on September 13. The film is set to be released next year by Kinowelt.
