Iceland’s acclaimed editor Valdis Óskarsdóttir, winner of a Bafta award for her editing of Michael Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, has successfully entered the Iceland charts last weekend with her feature film debut Country Wedding [+see also:

The comedy opened for a third place at the domestic Top Ten, with over 2,600 admissions from six screens for Samfilm. Co-written by Óskarsdóttir with actors from the Vesturport theatre group such as Björn Hlynur Haradsson (Eleven Men Out), Gisli Orn Gardarsson (Children), and Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir (Jar City [+see also:

film profile]), Country Wedding is a road movie revolving around two busloads of Icelanders attending a wedding in a small church outside of Reykjavik.
