Bounty time for Broadbent, Murphy, Gleeson

Irish actors Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson will star alongside British actor Jim Broadbent in Perrier’s Bounty. Ian Fitzgibbon (A Film With Me In It) will direct Mark O’Rowe’s (Boy A [+see also:

The Dublin-set film is a comic thriller where three fugitives are on the run from the gangster Perrier.

Parallel Films’ Alan Moloney and Number 9 Films’ Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen are producing the film. Number 9’s How To Lose Friends & Alienate People topped the box office in UK and Ireland and has collected over £3.5m to date.

Principal photography commences November 10 in Dublin, London and Louth. The film also has the participation of the Irish Film Board, Limelight and Premiere Picture. HanWay is handling worldwide sales while Optimum Releasing have acquired UK and Irish rights.

Meanwhile, Optimum has also taken UK theatrical and video rights for Irish director John Crowley’s Is There Anybody There?

Crowley (Intermission, Boy A) directs a star-studded cast including Michael Caine, David Morrissey, Anne-Marie Duff, Leslie Phillips and Bill Milner. The film explores the unlikely friendship between a young boy and a retired magician at an old age home.

Based on a script by Peter Harness (Heist), the film is a co-production between Big Beach Films’ (Little Miss Sunshine) Peter Saraf and Heyday Films’ (Harry Potter) David Heyman.
