Nanni Moretti’s Sacher Distribution protests yesterday’s decision by the Censorship Commission to ban the film Stella by Sylvie Verheyde to minors under 15. Released in France on November 12 with no age restrictions, the film opens in Italian theatres today, after being presented at the Venice Film Festival’s Venice Days.

“As distributors, we continually receive requests from teachers who wish to show a highly educational film to the students in their classes. Sadly, many of these requests will go unsatisfied,” Sacher states in a press release.
