Jaman logs in to the UK
Leading international online film provider Jaman has begun its global expansion by launching their first localised site in the UK. The service will kick off with the premiere of the documentary Trumbo, featuring Liam Neeson and Michael Douglas. Jaman are the film’s sole UK distributors and will keep the film online for a six-week premiere period.
David Fischer, former executive vice president and managing director of MySpace and Fox Interactive Media, will serve as managing director of Jaman’s UK and international operations.
Because of the company’s deals with leading film companies like the British Film Institute, Pathé Films, ContentFilms and Axiom Films, the UK site boasts of more than 1000 titles. Jaman and Pathé have joined hands for Slumdog Millionaire [+see also:

film profile]’s digital campaign. The company has also inked deals with Cinelan, Reality Entertainment and Mondo Mini, bringing its global catalogue to over 4500 films.
Jaman founder and CEO Gaurav Dhillon said, “In a little over a year, our unique library of films has helped us grow into audiences across the globe. With our new UK site and acquired content, we are not only able to continue to deliver high quality films, but are able to cater that content to specific audiences around the world.”
Fischer said, “Jaman's international ambition is to build upon our leadership position serving a discerning, independently minded global audience.”
The Silicon Valley based Jaman launched in 2007 and plans to continue launching localized sites in several regions. Their US content providers include Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, Eros International, Magnolia Pictures, First Look Films, Arts Alliance America and BBC Worldwide.
