Magnusson ousted from Nordisk Film

Scandinavian major Nordisk Film announced last Friday that it had decided to put an end to its contract with Kim Magnusson, managing director of Nordisk Film Production in Denmark, due to “plans for a new management structure” within the company.

The surprise firing (with immediate effect) of the established Danish producer comes just one month after the appointment of Allan Hansen at the head of Nordisk Film, in replacement of Michael Ritto.

Magnusson joined Nordisk Film in 2003 from M&M Productions, which he founded in 1995 with his father Tivi Magnusson. At Nordisk Film, Magnusson supervised the production of films such as Worlds Apart [+see also:

. His immediate leave from Nordisk Film Production also means that he has had to resign as Chairman of the Danish Film Producers Association, a position he held since 2001.
