Comencini shoots “white space” with Buy

by

Filming kicked off yesterday on the new film by Francesca Comencini, Lo spazio bianco (“White Space”), based on the novel by Valeria Parrella and starring Margherita Buy. The film, to be shot in Naples and Rome for eight weeks, is produced by Domenico Procacci for Fandango, in collaboration with RAI Cinema and with support from the Campania Film Commission.

Lo spazio bianco tells the story of a single, 40-something teacher who gives birth three months prematurely to a girl who is immediately placed into neonatal intensive care. Watching the baby in the incubator, the mother spends the next three months in limbo (the "white space" of the title), waiting for her daughter to truly “born”.
