- From France to the US, the festivals currently selecting short and feature films between 10 and 31 October

Here are the October deadlines for this winter’s festivals.
You have until 10 October to enter your film (be it feature-length or short) for the Festival of Films on Art de Montréal(12 – 17 mars 2002) that will take place from 12-17 March 2003. The festival has a variety of sections, including a competition.
15 October is the due date for submissions to the Three Continents’ Festival that will run in Nantes (France) from 26 November to 3 December. The event features films from Asia, Africa and South America and the programme also includes an intercontinental seminar-cum-workshop where young producers will discuss “Producing in the Southern Hemisphere”.
Once again, France will host the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival whose deadline falls on 19 October. As the title implies, the event is specialised in short films and the programme includes two competitions, one for French films, the other for international ones. Clermont-Ferrand is also an important meeting opportunity because of its renowned Film Market, currently in its 18th year.
31 October is the deadline for submissions to the Portland International Film Festival in Oregon. The event will run from 8-25 February 2003 and will feature something like 100 films from all over the world.
