Little Robbers ready to steal domestic audiences

Latvia’s first ever majority co-production produced outside the Baltic countries, Armand ZvirbulisLittle Robbers, is getting ready for its domestic release on March 27.

The local exhibition chain Forum Cinemas started pre-selling tickets for the film on March 13. The family adventure film was produced by established producer Gatis Upmalis who set up Studio F.O.R.M.A. in 1993.

In the story, Robis (5) and his sister Louisa (7) set out to rob a bank, the same one that has just thrown their entire family out of their brand new flat after their father lost his job. Austrian actor Karl Markovics of The Counterfeiters [+see also:

plays one of the leading roles.

The feature debut of television director Zvirbulis was produced by Studio F.O.R.M.A. (Latvia) and Mini Film (Austria), with support from the National Film Centre of Latvia (NFCL), the Austrian Film Institute, Vienna Film Fund, Latvian Television (LTV) and Culture Capital Foundation (Latvia).

Little Robbers was introduced to world buyers at the last European Film Market in Berlin and generated a great deal of interest from European distributors according to NFCL, which is promoting the film.
