AWARDS Europe

LUX contenders to be announced on May 28

by

The jury for the 2009 LUX Prize met in Brussels on March 19 to start discussions on this year’s potential award winners.

The jury will next meet on April 30 and May 28, when it will announce the ten films in official selection and, from those, the three competition finalists. Members of the European Parliament will then vote for one of these three films in November.

The winner of the 2009 LUX award will receive funding for subtitling in each of the European Union’s 23 official languages and a 35mm copy for each member state.
