In the Flesh, a hard film for cinema lovers

After making the short film Fare Bene Mikles, which won a Golden Globe in Italy along with 13 other prizes, Christian Angeli met Elisabeth Depardieu, who got him into Emergence, a workshop created by Jack Lang and Gérard Depardieu to help young artists realise their projects.

"I took part in a masters directing programme in Paris and shot two scenes from the script of In the Flesh [+see also:

," said Angeli. Those scenes served as promotional material to ask for state financing in Italy and make the film with Luna Film.

"I’ve known Alba Rohrwacher [2009 Shooting Star 2009] for many years. An actor doesn’t help you launch your project 100%, you need to work on the strength of the film, but Alba is a great actress, one of the few who knows how to unite physical language and the text, and to give you the emotions you need," he added.

“We’re looking for a distributor, it’s a hard film, for cinema lovers,” Angeli admits. “We need someone who’ll fall in love with the film, in countries like France above all and even the Czech Republic, not just because Ivan Franek plays the male lead, but because it’s the kind of film that could be appreciated by audiences".
