Hungary’s "shooting star" is Szonja Oroszlàn who first came to the forefront of public and industry attention in Hungary’s most popular domestic production of 2002, My Kind of America by Gàbor Herendi. That same year she was voted Actress of the Year by the readers of Story Magazine.
"I act in one of the biggest theatres in Hungary, I have six plays going on right now, so I act a lot, about 20 evenings per month which is a lot. I have a TV-series, a sit-com going on every night. It is an eight minute show, it is a very funny comedy, actually it is Canadian and called Love Bugs.
And I am about to do a short film for a young director, a girl who is just finishing school, the University for Drama and Film in Hungary. When I'm going back I will start with that movie. 'Hungarian speech' I've just said: 'The only thing I can say right now is that I'm freezing because I'm not dressed up enough'".
