Mikael Opstrup, Head of Studies at the European Documentary Network (EDN), was one of the main tutors of the 17th Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries, that was held in Riga in September. Organized in collaboration with the National Film Centre of Latvia and Baltic Films, the forum is a meeting point for documentary filmmakers working to bring their projects to light.

The forum focuses on projects from the Baltic region with a high international potential. The current difficult financial situation was a big topic as higher visibility of documentaries happens while the funding possibilities are decreasing.
