Ephemeral loves, days of summer freedom and the drift across Europe courtesy of Interrail are placidly viewed in Días color naranja, with the awareness of building memories that its characters will treasure all their lives. Álvaro, who is returning from an exhibition in Korea, gets stranded in Athens airport by the Icelandic ash storm of 2010. Following a French companion in misfortune whom he has just met, he decides to take a train to Paris where he meets a group travelling to Italy. And he’ll end up agreeing to go on a long diversion when he meets Berta, a Swedish girl who talks Spanish and to whom he is connected through The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club by Dickens, and who will take him to unexpected destinations.
