Focusing on nomophobia – the fear of having no mobile phone contact – Sconnessi (lit. Disconnected), the second film by Christian Marazziti after E-bola (awarded Best General Interest and Social Commentary Film at Rome Film Fest in 2015). Dealing with this so-called 21^st century affliction – with an estimated 66% of the population reported to be affected – are Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Ricky Memphis, Carolina Crescentini, Stefano Fresi and Antonia Liskova, who find themselves unexpectedly cut off from the outside world during an apparently relaxing weekend in the mountains, casting a light on their insecurities. The film also stars Eugenio Franceschini, Giulia Elettra Gorietti, Benedetta Porcaroli and Lorenzo Zurzolo. 

Written by the director along with Michela Andreozzi (Nine 1/2 Moons [+lee también:

ficha de la película]) and Massimiliano Vado, the film tells the story of Ettore (Bentivoglio), a notable writer, guru of all things analogue, and proud public enemy of the internet, who decides to take his family to a chalet in the mountains to celebrate his birthday, and to finally bond with his two children – Claudio (Franceschini), an online poker player, and Giulio (Zurzolo), his introverted and slightly nerdy high-school son – with his new wife, the beautiful, young and somewhat naive Margherita (Crescentini), who is seven-months pregnant. Along for the ride is Achille (Memphis), Margherita’s half-brother, who has just been thrown out of the house he shares with his wife, and Tea (Gorietti), Claudio’s young girlfriend and devoted fan of Ettore. Upon arriving at the chalet, they meet Olga (Liskova), a trustworthy Ukrainian nanny, and her daughter, Stella (Porcaroli), a young teenager who is addicted to social media. They also receive a surprise visit from Palmiro (Fresi), Margherita and Achille’s bi-polar brother, who has escaped from his nursing home. When the group suddenly finds itself without an internet connection, everyone begins to panic with some somewhat exhilarating consequences.

Produced by Roberto Cipullo and Mario Pezzis’ company Camaleo Film, and with support from Trentino Film Commission, the film, distributed by Vision Distribution, is due to hit Italian cinemas on 22 February 2018.
