The Audi Dublin International Film Festival (ADIFF), one of the most prestigious film events in the Republic of Ireland, has announced the full line-up for its 2018 edition. This year, over 100 features will be screened, nearly all having their Irish premiere. The festival will be held at several prestigious venues across the capital, such as the O'Reilly Theatre, the Pavilion Theatre, the Cineworld Cinema and the Omniplex Cinemas.

The festival opens on 21 February with the Irish premiere of Lance Daly's thriller Black 47 [+lee también:

, the story of an Irish Ranger fighting for the British Army, set in the time of the Great Famine. The director and actors Barry KeoghanStephen ReaMoe Dunford and James Frecheville will attend the screening.

A number of international guests will be joining the ADIFF this year. The most notable ones are the American actor Bill Pullman, who will attend the Irish premiere of his western The Ballad of Lefty BrownVanessa Redgrave and Paul Schrader, who will receive the 2018 Volta Awards for their lifetime achievements, and British costume designer Sandy Powell, a three-time Academy Award winner, who will take part in a Q&A after the screening of Todd Haynes' mystery-drama Wonderstruck and introduce John Cameron Mitchell’s comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties [+lee también:

Furthermore, the ADIFF will host seven world premieres this year. At the top of the list is the eagerly awaited drama The Delinquent Season, the directorial debut by famous Irish screenwriter Mark O'Rowe, starring Cillian MurphyAndrew ScottCatherine Walker and Eva Birthistle.

Festival director Gráinne Humphreys, who seems very satisfied with this year's programme, recently said: “This year’s Audi Dublin International Film Festival programme is a line-up of films that are rich, exciting and wonderful. They reflect the truly global culture of filmmaking as well as celebrating the strength and depth of Irish film talent. It’s a selection that aims to inspire and entertain film lovers of every age and taste, including the youngest at Fantastic Flix.”

Finally, the closing film of this edition will be Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano’s irreverent French comedy C’est la vie! [+lee también:

The ADIFF is supported by two of the key state agencies – namely, the Arts Council and the Irish Film Board. This year, the festival will run between 21 February and 4 March: for further information, the full programme can be found here.
