How to Sell a War, the debut feature by Rudolph Herzog, will start shooting in Georgia on 16 March. Written by Tim Price (Doctor Who, Secret Diary of a Call Girl) from an idea by Raid Sabbah, the film stars Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion [+lee también:

Herzog is an award-winning director, producer and writer, best known for his work for television, The Paedophile Next Door and The Heist. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed books Dead Funny and A Short History of Nuclear Folly. His latest book, Truggestalten, has been picked up by Philipp Kreuzer’s Maze Pictures (The Happy Prince [+lee también:

How to Sell a War is being produced by Samantha Taylor and Mike Downey via their Dublin-based Film and Music Entertainment (IRE); the co-producers are Vladimer Katcharava of Georgia’s 20 Steps Productions and Radoslaw Drabik of Kinomedia/GF, and the executive producers are James Atherton, Jan Pace, James Bierman and Aleksi Bardy. Key financing comes from the UK’s Quickfire, Helsinki-based IPR.VC and Creative England, as well as the Georgian National Film Centre and the tax credit scheme of Enterprise Georgia. The film is being sold by Bankside Films. Production will take place on location in Georgia and Dublin.
“It’s really exciting to be producing How to Sell a War at the present time,” says Samantha Taylor of Film and Music Entertainment (IRE). “Katherine and Lily, our extremely talented lead actors, play two very funny women who stick it to the bully man, to the news fakers and to celebrity bullshit in general… To paraphrase, humour isn’t about appeasing the patriarchy, but rolling over it in an armoured car.”
