Written by the director herself together with Pascal Bonitzer, the story revolves around Claire, a beautiful young woman who works at her late father's hotel, which is now managed by her evil stepmother, Maud. Claire unwittingly sparks uncontrollable jealousy in Maud, whose young lover has fallen in love with Claire. Maud decides to get rid of Claire, who finds shelter on a farm where she is allowed to break free from her strict upbringing through encounters with seven "princes".

White as Snow, which is being produced by Nicolas and Eric Altmayer for Mandarin Production and by Philippe Carcassonne for Ciné@, has secured a co-production by France 3 Cinéma and a pre-purchase by Canal+. The eight-week shoot will take place in Paris, followed by Lyon and the Vercors Massif, until 25 May, with Yves Angelo serving as DoP. The French distribution will be handled by Gaumont; the firm is also overseeing the international sales, which got off to a flying start at Berlin this year.
