Filming is due to take place on Ginevra Elkann's directorial debut, Magari, from 14 January to 26 February in Rome and Sabaudia. It is the first feature to be directed by the independent producer and distributor. The film was produced by Mario Gianani, Lorenzo Mieli and Marco Martani for Wildside, a subsidiary of FremantleMedia. The French company Iconoclast was also involved in the project, which is a minority co-production.

The film – in French and Italian – will star "children, kids of divorced parents living in Paris, who travel to Rome to visit their father," states the director, who wrote the screenplay along with the writer Chiara Barzini. The film’s references are partly autobiographical, considering that Ginevra Elkann's parents – the niece of the legendary Fiat patron Gianni Agnelli – separated when she was just three years old. "Every child with divorced parents – and there are a lot of us these days – feels somewhat disconnected. There is a difficulty in having to adapt to your parents' lives."
