is now in the home straight, having kicked off on 10 July and wrapping on 21 August before a final round of takes, which are scheduled for the end of the year. A graduate of La Fémis who made a name for himself with his 52 min short The Chasm – the winner of the Prix Jean Vigo 2016 - the filmmaker has opted, in this instance, to assemble a cast of non-professionals, including Dimitri Doré, Alex Fanguin and Romain Villedieu.

Written by the director himself and inspired by real events, the script retraces the story of Bruno Reydal, a young 17-year-old seminarian found guilty of murdering a child in the Cantal region in 1905. Imprisoned, he begins to write his memoirs at the request of the doctors studying his case, in an attempt to explain his actions…

Produced by Thierry Lounas on behalf of Capricci Films, Bruno Reidal is co-produced by Arte France Cinéma and Stank. Pre-purchased by Arte and Ciné+, the feature film is also supported by the CNC, in the form of an advance on receipts, as well as by the Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions, and by the French Gan Film Foundation. The film shoot will encompass the French departments of Aveyron, Bourgogne, Haute-Vienne and Lot, with Mickaël Capron in charge of the film’s photography. French distribution will be handled by Les Bookmakers, while Capricci will manage international sales directly.
