Having rapidly risen through the ranks to become a benchmark for dynamism and quality within the space of just three years, in the highly competitive sector of international sales, Parisian firm Charades is once again distinguishing itself by forming an association with American distributor NEON with respect to three films: the Norwegian documentary The Painter and the Thief [+lee también:

by Benjamin Ree (Special Jury Award for Creative Storytelling at Sundance), the existential apocalyptic thriller She Dies Tomorrow by US director Amy Seimetz (chosen for the Official Selection of Austin’s SXSW) and the documentary Spaceship Earth by fellow American Matt Wolf (in competition in Sundance and set to be launched on US platforms on 8 May by NEON, as well as in drive-ins and in all locations and via all alternative screening modes permitted by the health crisis).

The Charades team composed of Yohann Comte, Carole Baraton, Pierre Mazars and Constantin Briest will sell these three films in the rest of the world and - in league with NEON - will provide distributors with a full marketing package and an inventive model which can be adapted to the needs of individual markets. NonStop Entertainment on behalf of Scandinavia, and Madman representing Australia, have already signed up to the adventure by buying the three films, whilst other countries are in negotiations.

"We are thrilled to be on board of this fresh and engaging initiative to take those topical films to audiences in such a particular context", enthuses Carole Baraton (Charades). "NEON couldn't be more excited to have found a partner in Charades. They are helping to bring NEON films to worldwide audiences alongside partners that share our vision. We look forward to working with the amazing teams at Charades, Non-Stop and Madman to create and develop release strategies and initiatives that will carry us through a global shutdown and into 2021", remarked Tom Quinn (CEO of NEON).
