As the entire film chain readies itself for the resumption of activities in France (with a return to filming now imminent and the re-opening of cinemas planned for 22 June), the CNC has revealed a lengthy list of 11 projects (six from the second session and five from the first) which were chosen during the 2^nd advance on receipts committee of 2020.

Standing tall among them is La Petite Bande, which will be the 10^th feature film by Pierre Salvadori, whose first opus The Trouble With You [+lee también:

ficha de la película] went down well at the 2018 Directors’ Fortnight before earning itself nine César nominations (notably in the categories of Best Film, Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay). Following in the footsteps of a small group of young boys and based - according to the filmmaker (see the video) - around the idea of "how the joy we derive from being together ultimately sets an ideal", the film will be produced by Les Films Pelléas (a partner in all of Salvadori’s full-length pics since 1993’s Cible émouvante, not to mention Les Apprentis and After You [+lee también:

Production is helmed by Ex Nihilo, with Karé Productions and Belgian firm Artémis lined up in co-production.

This loose adaptation (by the director and Axelle Roppert) of Henry James’s eponymous novella will plunge the viewer into a vertiginous huis clos: for 25 years (from 1979 to 2004), in a huge nightclub, a man and a woman watch and wait for a mysterious event. Production will be handled by Aurora Films, with Les Films du Losange already steering international sales.
