Starring Grégoire Colin and Hayk Bakhryan, the feature debut by the French-Armenian filmmaker (who wrote the screenplay with novelist Emmanuelle Pagano) is set in the Caucasus in the present day. It revolves around Alain, an international auditor, who has arrived to appraise the airport of a small self-proclaimed republic in order to greenlight its eventual reopening. Through Edgar, a local boy running a makeshift business in the airport, Alain will put everything at risk to help this isolated territory to open up. Produced by French outfit Sister Productions together with Armenia’s Aneva Production and Belgium’s Kwassa Films, the feature will be released in French theatres by Rouge Distribution in the first quarter of 2021.

The Indie Sales team managed by Nicolas Eschbach (supported by Florencia Gil and Simon Gabriele) will be pre-selling the French-Danish animated feature Calamity: A Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary [+lee también:

) based on a promo-reel. The film, which is in competition at Annecy this week (where it will only be viewable by the jury), will be distributed in France by Gebeka from 14 October onwards.

Deals will also be negotiated for four mouth-watering titles currently in post-production. France by Bruno Dumont, for which a promo-reel will be shown, has been announced for the second quarter of 2021, as has the documentary Bigger Than Us by Flore Vasseur (which follows seven young activists from all over the world, and which is being produced by Marion Cotillard via the company All You Need, with Big Mother Productions and Elzévir Films), which will be sold based on a teaser. The French-German-Czech animated film The Crossing by Florence Miailhe will also be delivered in the second quarter of 2021. On the other hand, Dead & Beautiful [+lee también:

by Dutch helmer David Verbeek (a vampire flick set in an Asian megacity – a Lemming Film production in conjunction with Taiwanese outfit House on Fire International) is billed to arrive in the first quarter of 2021.
