Kids Kino Industry is ready to run its fourth edition from 29 September-2 October, and will do so entirely online owing to the limitations and the uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Formerly known as the Warsaw Kids Film Forum, Kids Kino Industry is an international co-production forum for film and series projects for young audiences, and it will run in parallel with the seventh Kids Kino International Film Festival, which is taking place from 26 September-4 October in cinemas in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań and nearly 20 other Polish towns and cities, as well as online.

Regarding the selection of the fourth Kids Kino Industry, a total of 26 projects (21 of which are in development and five are already in progress) have been selected from among 66 submissions from 26 countries. The selection process was supported by three international experts: Alison Norrington, writer, producer, creative director and founder of London-based storycentral Ltd; Silke Wilfinger, managing director of German company SilkWayFilms; and Viola Gabrielli, Kids Kino Industry Inspiration Day programmer and business relations manager. The projects will be featured in a series of pitching sessions that will be followed by one-on-one meetings.

Kids Kino Industry, which is organised by the Education department of the New Horizons Association, aims to keep the spirit of the physical event intact – an event that, each year, hosts more than 200 industry guests and 70 decision makers. This year’s programme, which will be officially announced in the coming weeks, includes a series of weekly industry webinars (due to start on 24 August), specialised workshops, master classes, and individual consultations with script and marketing experts.

Apart from the projects selected for Kids Kino Industry, 12 projects (eight feature films and four series) that were developed during the Kids Kino.Lab workshops will be presented on one of the days of the forum. The Kino.Lab projects are listed here.
