The world's only industry event dedicated to stop-motion animation, the ANIMARKT Stop Motion Forum, organised by Polish animation production, distribution and promotion company Momakin every year in Łódź, is taking place fully online for the fifth time from 6-10 October.

The ANIMARKT programme consists of three main sections: Masters, Business and Pitching. Masters brings real animation masters to run workshops for puppet makers, operators and animators. This year, the guests will be Andy Gent, a puppet creator who is also known as Wes Anderson’s right-hand man; Kim Keukeleire, who served as animation director on My Life as a Courgette [+lee también:

The Business segment is focused on networking with some of the biggest decision makers in the world of animation. This strand includes recruitment for the positions of experienced storyboard artists and puppet builders for the legendary LAIKA Studio in the USA, "Ask the Expert" consultations with representatives of Miyu Distribution, Maur Film and New Europe Film Sales, among others, and presentations of full-length films and series in "Show Me Your Project". Moreover, there is a "Meet Your Partner" event, which enables a dialogue between Argentinian and Chilean representatives and European producers.

In the Pitching section, 15 stop-motion projects from around the world, which took part in preparatory workshops online prior to the event, will compete for valuable prizes: vouchers with a total value of €22,269 (PLN 100,000) to be used at the Audiovisual Technology Center in Wrocław, an artistic residency in Córdoba, Argentina, and an accreditation for the MIFA International Film Market in France in 2021. All presentations will be available online. For the full list of projects, please scroll down.

The master class, conference and discussion panels, as well as the much less formal "Breakfasts with Animation", will also be open to the participants without the need for prior registration. During "Breakfasts with Animation", participants will talk about how to operate in the Chinese animation market, among other things. All forum events are free of charge.

The ANIMARKT Stop Motion Forum is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, from the Cultural Promotion Fund, the International Visegrad Fund and the Polish Film Institute. The main partners of ANIMARKT 2020 are EC1 Łódź - City of Culture and the Łódź Film Commission.
