British distributor and exhibitor Curzon has announced the launch of a hybrid membership scheme, set to cover both cinema tickets and streaming offering. Specifically, Curzon customers choosing the Cult membership package will receive five credits on a weekly basis to use either as normal cinema tickets or to stream titles on Curzon's dedicated platform, called Curzon Home Cinema. Along with the Cult package, Curzon is also offering a Cult+ package – including the same benefits but assigning customers ten weekly credits instead of just five, an additional cardholder and free access to event screenings – and a Classic package, available annually and consisting of five credits for cinema tickets or streams. The news was first reported by Screen International.

The effort is said to allow film enthusiasts to gain more flexibility and to choose when and how to enjoy their favourite titles. Following the launch of these new membership schemes, both Curzon and Curzon Home Cinema's websites have been revamped. The latter will include new apps and the possibility to download films to watch offline, a feature already present in other similar streaming platforms such as Netflix.
