Karoline Lyngbye’s first feature, entitled Superposition, will be one of the 13 new genre projects taking part in this year’s Frontières Platform (10-11 July), co-presented by the Fantasia International Film Festival and the Cannes Marché du Film. Before working on her debut film, Lyngbye directed a number of shorts and served as assistant director on several productions.
The story of Superposition, penned by the director herself and Mikkel Bak Sørensen (the TV series Snabba Cash, Cutterhead [+lee también:

But they soon learn to be careful what they wish for, as they are forced to fight for their lives against identical copies of themselves. The leading couple will be played by actors Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (the TV series The Rain, The Good Traitor [+lee también:

Beo Starling producer Amalie Lyngbo Quist (Breeder [+lee también:

The idea is to combine the effectiveness of the thriller genre with the depth of psychological drama. This film will be a little scary because of the shock effects. But mostly, it will scare us to see what we are capable of when faced with the fact that we’re not as unique as we think we are.”
Superposition is being produced by Danish studio Beo Starling, with support from the Danish Film Institute and DR. The project, currently in development but nearing pre-production, will be filmed in Danish and shot in Sweden. Its release is scheduled for summer 2022.
