ACE Producers announces its first live event for the ACE Annual Programme ACE 30 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. Joined by 22 renowned consultants, the majority of the selected producers will meet up in person for the first time in Belgrade, Serbia, for the ACE 30 Financing Strategies Workshop. The workshop is taking place from 7 – 12 June with the support of the Film Center Serbia.

The week-long workshop offers advice on possible financing strategies for the producers’ projects and will be made up of interactive sessions exploring international financing opportunities and strategies through detailed analysis of the producers’ finance plans, with input provided by high-grade professionals from across the industry. The sessions offer a uniquely open exchange of experience and ideas which sheds light on the evolution of co-production practices, of public and private funding schemes, and of the global marketplace in the digital age.

All ACE 30 workshops have so far been held online since the selection of the producers in September 2020. They will get together again for the upcoming Annual Reunion 2021 which will be held in Edinburgh, with the support of Screen Scotland, after the postponement of the 2020 edition.

In order to allow the producers that were unable to attend to take part, and so as to benefit from consultants from all over the world, the event will operate as a hybrid production, with the live guests and speakers interacting with the online professionals.

Of the event, ACE director Jacobine van der Vloed says: “We’re thrilled to be back offline. The DNA of ACE Producers is its network, and that lives off eye-to-eye exchange and honest dialogue. Although the past months have shown us that productive gatherings can work online, the dynamics of a room full of interested and ambitious producers has its own unique creative power. We’re very much looking forward to releasing that energy again.”

Consultants online and offline include producers from the ACE Network such as Jonas Dornbach and Ada Solomon, and professionals from MUBI, ARTE, Playtime, Bankside Films, The Match Factory, Charades, Haut et Court, Hyde Park International, UGC Distribution, BFI, Eurimages, Films Boutique and many more. The producers attending are Muayad Alayan (Palcine Productions, Palestine), Jacqui Davies (Primitive Film, United Kingdom), Stefan Eichenberger (Contrast Film, Switzerland), Brian J Falconer (Out of Orbit, United Kingdom), Jessie Fisk (Feline Films, Ireland), Erik Glijnis (Lemming Film, Netherlands), Lauren Grant (Clique Pictures, Canada), Anna-Maria Kantarius (Garage Film International, Sweden), Marta Lewandowska (Friends with Benefits Studio, Poland), Patrice Nezan (Les Contes Modernes, France), Sébastien Onomo (Special Touch Studios, France), Evelin Penttilä (Stellar Film, Estonia), Giovanni Pompili (Kino Produzioni, Italy), Radim Prochazka (Kuli Film, Czech Republic), Marija Razgutė (M-FILMS, Lithuania), Milan Stojanovic (Sense Production, Serbia), Joanna Szymańska (Shipsboy, Poland) and Vladimir Yatsenko (Limelite/Forefilms, Ukraine).
