In action since yesterday at the Pre-Cannes Screenings (unfolding online from 21 to 25 June), which are taking place within the 74th Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film (which will switch to its physical form from 6 to 15 July), Parisian group Bac Films’ international sales division boasts a title in its line-up which is set to enjoy its world premiere in a little over three weeks, in the Directors’ Fortnight’s closing slot: Our Men [+lee también:

, which world premiered in the 2016 Berlinale Forum, before touring over 60 international festivals and enjoying distribution in a dozen or so territories (including Germany, the UK, the USA and China), the French director and Belgian resident has assembled a cast for this new opus, composed of Louis Garrel (whom we’ll also be seeing in Cannes in The Story of My Wife [+lee también:

and in La croisade, which he directed himself) and Camille Cottin (also gracing the Croisette showcase in Stillwater and hitting cinemas in November by way of Gucci), who will be joined by the late Lithuanian actress Ina Marija Bartaité (who passed away in April at 25 years of age as a result of a traffic accident), Russia’s Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Naidra Ayadi and Jean Michelangeli.

Written by the director (who is herself a long-serving member of the French Armed Forces), the story is pitched as follows: They come from all over the world, but they have one thing in common: their new family The Foreign Legion. Our Men tells these stories: stories of women who struggle to keep their love fire burning; stories of men who leave for battle; stories of loving couples on hostile ground.

With production co-steered by French firm Chevaldeuxtrois (Jérémy Forni) and Belgian outfit Wrong Men (Benoît Roland), Our Men (whose photography comes courtesy of Belgium’s Fiona Braillon) lists its partners as Canal+, Ciné+, RTBF, Proximus, Voo and Be tv, Mubi, the CNC (via an advance on receipts) the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Film and Audiovisual Centre, the Collectivity of Corsica, the Bruxelles-Capitale, Grand Est, Normandy and Strasbourg Eurométropole regions, Procirep and Angoa, the SOFICA companies Manon and Cinémage, and the Gan Film Foundation, among others. The film’s release in French cinemas will take place on 6 October, via Bac Films themselves.

The Marché du Film will also see the Bac sales team - led by Marine Goulois - pre-selling Nicolas Pleskof’s police comedy in post-production Murder Party on the basis of a promo reel, while Belgian director Stephan Streker’s film The Enemy [+lee también:
