, and the aforementioned The Players and The Catholic School. However, 2 Win is their first English-language film, which is slated to start shooting in Italy later this month.

The 1983 World Rally Championship sparked an intense rivalry between the Italian and German contenders. Hannu Mikkola, representing Audi, beat the defending world champion, Walter Röhrl, and his Lancia teammate Markku Alén, thus winning the drivers' title. The Lancia team managed to snatch the manufacturers' title from Audi by a narrow margin of two points.

In the film, Brühl will play Roland Gumpert, who is competing against Italy’s workforce supervisor, Cesare Fiorio (Scamarcio), to win the championship. Fiorio is determined to win and assembles a team of medical doctors and nutritionists. He manages to talk to German driver Walter Röhrl (Bruch) and persuades him to drive for Lancia against Audi’s reigning champion, Hannu Mikkola. This confrontation is akin to the infamous Ford vs Ferrari rivalry and is well known within the racing community.

This will be Brühl’s second racing movie, as he also played in Ron Howard’s Rush [+lee también:

, which premiered as a Golden Bear hopeful at the Berlin International Film Festival; in it, he also acted as Daniel, a vain and mean version of himself.

2 Win is an Italian-French-UK co-production. Lebowski is staging the film, with Recorded Picture Company and Metropolitan Films co-producing. 01 Distribution will be the Italian distributor. 2 Win is being produced by Jeremy Thomas together with Scamarcio. HanWay Films is handling the world sales, which will kick off shortly at Cannes.
