The Sala Web of the Venice Film Festival will this year present online 18 feature films and 12 short films from around the world. All are having their world premiere in the Official Selection of the 79th Venice Film Festival in the Out of Competition, Orizzonti, Orizzonti Extra ad Biennale College – Cinema sections. Standing out among them is the documentary Freedom on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom by Evgeny Afineevsky, about the war in Ukraine which the director began filming immediately after 24 February, when the conflict began; and Call of God, the final, posthumous film from Golden Lion-winning director Kim Ki-duk, who passed away in December 2020.

The 18 feature films, accessible only in Italy and with limited capacity, will be visible here, on the Biennale Cinema streaming platform of MyMovies.it, simultaneously with the official screenings of the films on the Lido, and will be available for a further 5 days until the end of the streaming period.

The 12 short films, available for free worldwide, will be visible here, on the Festival Scope website. Among the titles are four Italian short films: Manuale di cinematografia per dilettanti – Vol. I by Federico Di Corato, TRIA - del sentimento del tradire by Giulia Grandinetti, both from the Orizzonti – Short Film section; In quanto a noi, with the voice of Wim Wenders, and A guerra finita, with the voice of Gino Strada, both by Simone Massi, Out of Competition.
