Described by the festival as "a Capraesque tale about an adolescent seeking an audience with Michelle Obama” that “dismantles boundaries of status and decorum and celebrates the power of self-determination,” the film stars Sania Halifa, Oumou Sangaré and Yseult.

Written by the director, the script centres on Hawa, a 15-year-old girl looking for a new mentor after her grand-mother, whom she lives with, falls seriously ill. When she learns that an international star is visiting France, she embarks on an impossible quest to try and convince this celebrity to adopt her…
