Already honoured by an impressive double in Venice (Jury Grand Prize and Future Lion), French candidate for the next Best International Film Oscar and winner of the Jean Vigo prize, Saint Omer (produced by SRAB Films and co-produced by Arte France Cinéma) is in French cinema since 23 November (distributed by Les Films du Losange which also guides international sales). Alice Diop is the 8th female director to win the Louis-Delluc prize (inaugurated in 1937) after Nicole Védrès, Agnès Varda, Diane Kurys, Christine Pascal, Sandrine Veysset, Noémie Lvovsky and Pascale Ferran.

Attraction of the latest Cannes competition, Pacifiction, which is also still in French theatres (also via Les Film du Losange), was produced at 44,31% by France via Idéale Audience (with Arte France Cinéma and Archipel Prod), at 29,58% by Spain (Audergraun Films), at 16,11% by Germany (Tamtam Film) and at 10% by Portugal (Rosa Filmes). The film’s international sales are handled by Films Boutique. Spanish director Albert Serra joins André Delvaux, Andrzej Wajda, Costa Gavras, Otar Iosseliani and Aki Kaurismäki on the small list of non-French filmmakers to win the Delluc prize.

by Canadian filmmaker Charlotte Le Bon. Unveiled in Cannes in Directors’ Fortnight, the film, produced at 51% by France (via Cinéfrance Studios and Onzecinq, with Les Productions du Ch’Timi in co-production) and at 49% by Canada (Metafilm), will be distributed in France on 7 December by Tandem, while international sales are handled by Memento International.
